La Amistad National Park

La Amistad is considered the first Bi-National Biosphere in the world, spanning area in both Costa Rica and Panama.  This Biosphere is classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO or the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. The Panamanian side of the park consists of 511,000 acres of Mountainous range called the ‘Cordillera de Talamanca’ . This area consists of beautiful cloud forests, 95% of which in the Bocas del Toro province.

This park is a haven for travelers who enjoy river adventures and mountain hikes through dense, humid forests. The Teribe and Changuinola Rivers are the life blood of this ancient forest and offer many opportunities for site seeing, forest travel, and adventure.  This forest is a great place for bird watching and pristine jungle exploration.
