Kayaking

Kayaking from Bocas Bound is an amazing experience. You can choose glassy-peaceful waters on the back of Bastimentos or, to access remote beaches and coral gardens, the front of the island is for the more expert kayaker. Kayaking can be described as one of the most relaxing ways to enjoy a day out on the water. Much like canoeing but differentiated by the sitting position of the paddler and the amount on the paddle. The paddler faces forward with his or her legs out front and uses a double bladed paddle to gently and smoothly glide across the surface of the water. Kayaking is a very environmentally friendly water based activity that allows the adventure seeker to see the sights without disturbing the natural surroundings. At Bocas Bound you can enjoy what is referred to as sea kayaking or, ocean kayaking. which is the use of a kayak out on the ocean or another body of open water. You will see some of the most beautiful sites the leeward side of the Bastimentos have to offer. It's in this place where some of the best snorkeling can be done among some of the most calm and serene water in the world. But, the kayaker should be warned: the warm waters of the Isla Bastimentos are riddled with so many breathtaking islands that it would not be uncommon for someone to get lost navigating their stunning shores. There is something for every skill level of kayaker while you stay at Bocas Bound. Experienced kayakers will enjoy a tour of the coves and hidden inlet bays surrounding Isla Bastimentos. Kayaking is the best way to get out and see the exquisite flora and wildlife of the islands. Kayaks are for rent at the activity centre at $15 for half day and $25 for full day.
