Cave Adventure

Looking for an extreme adventure? Then look no further because our Cave Adventure is something you can not miss! A local Indian Guide will give a tour through the mangroves and deep into the Cave here on Isla Bastimentos. Be prepared to get wet, because you will be wading into water that is about 4 to 5 feet deep! But just wait, because at the end of the cave lies a flowing waterfall and a small pool where you can swim and jump into from the stalagmites. Watch out for bats as well, as they are sleeping high above! Headlamps included. Tour duration: Approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours   A visit to Nivida Cave on Isla Bastimentos: A peaceful 15min boat ride through channels, deep bays, mangroves, and a short walk through a cacao farm leads to the entrance of the cave.  Upon entering the cave the sound of hundreds of bats on the ceiling above floods your ears, but don't get caught standing below them for too long!  The cave is slippery and the floor is covered in jagged rocks so keep your eyes on your feet, but be wary of plunging stalactites which can come out of nowhere. As you venture deeper into the cave interior you will be wading through a shallow river so be prepared with a swimsuit and shoes that can get wet and will support your feet.  The water can be chilly and at times very deep, so be ready to swim.   The cave is full of natural rock formations, deep cave dwelling creatures, and dark mysterious tunnels.  Keep your wits about you as you enjoy this exciting yet rugged tour meant for the truly adventurous.
