Field Research and Experiential Education Programs
Bocas Bound offers an 8 week to 16 week internship program for students and recent graduates that are interested in developing expertise in one of the many facets of our project in Bocas del Toro. Isla Bastimentos serves as its own unique island classroom for a wide variety of curriculum that can be tailored to meet the student’s needs and career goals. Bocas del Toro is an ideal setting for practical work experience and experiential education programs. Our staff can coordinate with your academic institution to facilitate an authentic and rich learning experience. Recent College graduates looking for experience are also encouraged to apply.
Bocas Bound on Isla Bastimentos is home to a National Marine Park. There are over 15 square miles of jungle rainforest, several restaurants, an activity center, and miles of secluded coral and mangrove coastline.
The program offers internships in the following disciplines. Other topics may be considered upon written proposal:
- Bocas Bound Logistics Development
- Water Sport Business Development
- Group Sales for Bocas Bound and Red Frog Beach (Tourism and Hospitality)
- Red Frog Marina Marketing and Business Development (Start-up phase)
- Bocas Bound Community Island Marketing
- Web Marketing / Social Media and optimization
- Zip line launch and execution
- Zip line & Nursery Founders Program solicitations
- Nursery implementation program (Horticulture & Farming)
- Accounting (bilingual requirement)
The cost of the internship is $1500 and includes on-island room and board at Bocas Bound. Students will be given challenging responsibilities and projects which will be directly overseen by the Program Director.
